Privacy Policy
This privacy notice explains how Greg Paul, trading as Business Advice Shropshire, uses and protects personal information.
Who is responsible for your information?
Greg Paul trading as Business Advice Shropshire is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact me at Orchard House, Market Street, Oakengates, Telford, TF2 6EL or by email at info@businessadviceshropshire.co.uk.
Information I may collect
I may collect your name, business name, email address, telephone number, information you provide about your business or enquiry, and information you later provide while I am advising or working with you. This can include business pricing, costs, staffing, cash-flow or operational information where relevant to the work.
Why I use it
I use personal information to respond to enquiries, arrange the free initial conversation, decide whether I can help, provide agreed business advice or consultancy, communicate with clients, keep appropriate records, issue invoices and meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Lawful bases
Depending on the circumstances, I process information because it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into an agreement, to perform an agreement with you, to comply with a legal obligation, or because I have a legitimate interest in operating and administering Business Advice Shropshire and responding to genuine business enquiries.
Marketing
I do not intend to add people who enquire to a marketing mailing list. I will not send marketing emails simply because you have contacted me. If this changes in future, any marketing will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy and electronic-marketing rules.
Sharing information
I do not sell your personal information. Information may be shared only where reasonably necessary with service providers used to operate the business, such as email, website/contact-form, hosting, accounting or professional advisers, or where disclosure is required by law. Relevant provider details will be reviewed when the live contact-form and hosting arrangements are finalised.
How long I keep it
If an enquiry does not become a client relationship, I aim to delete the enquiry information within three months unless there is a legitimate reason or legal requirement to keep it longer. Client, invoice, accounting and tax records may be retained for longer where required by law or reasonably necessary for business records and the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Security
I take reasonable steps to keep personal information secure and restrict access to it. No internet or email system can, however, be guaranteed completely secure.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights over your personal information, including rights to ask for access, correction or deletion, to restrict or object to certain processing, and in some cases to receive information in a portable form. You can contact me using the details above to exercise a right.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how I use your information, please contact me first so I can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Updates
This notice may be updated if the way the business uses personal information changes. The version on this website will be the current version.
